I teach weaving and fiber arts classes across New Jersey in libraries, yarn shops, and community spaces, and I’m always happy to tailor an experience to fit your group’s needs. My programs range from beginner-friendly introductions to more advanced explorations of technique.
Some examples include:

Learn to warp a loom and weave your first scarf or sampler using a 10" Schacht Cricket loom. I provide all the looms, tools, and yarns for up to 10 students, so we can jump right into creating. We’ll start with the basics, then explore more expressive techniques as you get more comfortable at the loom.

Create a simple, boxy jacket inspired by historical garments and designed to showcase your handwoven fabric. Using my original jacket sewing pattern, this workshop guides participants through the full process, from finished cloth to wearable piece, making garment construction approachable and rewarding. The jacket’s straightforward structure makes it an ideal project for first-time garment makers.

Explore color through hands-on dyeing projects that focus on either fabric or yarn. Classes include options like tie dye and shibori for bold, one-of-a-kind patterns, or hand-painting yarns and warps for weaving and knitting. We’ll cover fiber preparation, dye application, and color mixing using professional acid or fiber-reactive dyes. All materials and tools are provided, and students leave with their own custom-dyed creations.

Crafting Content: A Creative’s Guide to Social Media (New Orleans, LA)
In this 3-hour seminar hosted by Andrea Alexander and Astrid Tauber (aka EweniqueAstrid), makers will learn to share their creative journey online with confidence. This session will cover the basics of content creation for Instagram and YouTube from a fiber arts perspective. Participants will explore filming and editing simple videos, navigating social media, connecting with fellow makers, and building on-camera confidence. Wear your Weaving (Info Session) at the Westfield Weaver's Guild, NJ
Join Andrea Alexander for an informational presentation on her “Wearing Your Weaving” Jacket class, a modern take on simple historical garment shapes adapted for today’s weavers. This session will cover everything you need to prepare for the upcoming two-day in-person sewing workshop later in the year.
Andrea will walk through recommended materials, fabric considerations, weaving prep, and supplies so participants can arrive at the future workshop ready to sew.
The jacket design uses just a few measurements, minimal cutting, and straightforward seams to create a boxy, relaxed silhouette that highlights your handwoven fabric. It’s approachable, versatile, and designed to be worn and loved.
