Andrea Alexander is a textile artist who weaves together artwork, content, and community. She began her career in marine biology, but her curiosity for color and pattern led her to textiles and a degree in Textile & Surface Design at FIT in New York City. Today her practice grows from a rooftop dye garden in New Jersey, the loom in her studio, and travels to study weaving traditions around the world.
Andrea creates textiles that are artworks in their own right, but sharing the process is just as central to her practice. Through workshops and her YouTube channel, she invites others to discover weaving for themselves and is building a vibrant community around the joy of making.
