Creative Yarn Dyeing: Skeins & Painted Warps

Dive into color with a hands-on introduction to yarn dyeing! Using acid dyes, participants will explore techniques for adding color to yarn skeins and warps, both on and off the loom. Experiment with color placement, blending, and playful combinations while creating your own hand-dyed yarn or warp to use in a future fiber project.

Explore the colorful possibilities of tie-dye and resist dyeing! Students will create a collection of dyed fabric samples while learning several of my favorite folding, tying, and binding techniques. We’ll experiment with different ways to create pattern and apply color, using dyes selected to suit each workshop. Participants will leave with a collection of unique hand-dyed fabrics and plenty of inspiration for future projects.

Makers will learn to share their creative journey online with confidence. This session covers the basics of content creation for Instagram and YouTube from a fiber arts perspective. Participants will explore filming and editing simple videos, navigating social media, connecting with fellow makers, and building on-camera confidence. Whether for personal expression or monetization, this class provides the tools to start sharing their craft online.
